- Won’t Say I’m Disappointed…In Foundation Discussions·25 septembre 2021This program is so far off the original story, perhaps out of necessity, but I quickly came to the conclusion that I’ll have to enjoy this program, or not, based on it’s own merits. Not think of it as Asimov’s Foundation. Otherwise I‘d spend the entire series wondering (complaining?) about everything from questionable casting choices to profound deviations from the story.28167

- A thread for people who love the show.In Foundation Discussions·22 novembre 2021Many of the threads on the forum are by people who seem to not really like the show, and that is not fun for me to read. I’m a big fan of the books, and a bigger fan of the show. I love how the show expands on Eto Demerzel’s character, someone who was only in the prequel books. If Foundation were to be made into a series truly based on the books it would be more of an anthology, which wouldn’t allow for good character development. I think Goyer is doing great. It still feels like the Foundation novels, but it would have been boring without action scenes and so many characters without connections between them. What were your favorite changes that Goyer made? Did you like the ending to the first season? What are your predictions for season 2?2774
- Community growthIn Ideas & Contribution·24 mars 2021Hi there! Just stumbled upon this site from twitter while looking for Foundation updates because I can't wait for the show. Really impressed with the design and features! I do hope the forum here grows and becomes more active as we get closer to release. It might be worthwhile to promote it on reddit on r/FoundationTV or r/asimov.3491

- Space Laundry! In Foundation Discussions·16 octobre 2021Yo! New member here. I did a search for this topic, and if there's a discussion already on it, please let me know....If not...I'm amazed no one has talked about this yet. The Space Laundry. The second it came up, I paused the show, burst out laughing, and asked my partner "Why can't they get out the ink?" Because here on 21st century Earth, there are laundry pens that remove ink stains. You'd think a galactic empire with light speed travel and space elevators could match us in that. Even for those in third class on slow boats to Terminus. Of course, my partner's response to this question was even better: "Why are there ink stains?" Well, that's a puzzler. Because Hari uses a quill to jot down his calculations? Look, I get the idea of a scene to show how down-to-Earth Hari is and how venerated he is by the humble lower classes who, on their four year journey to another planet, are working to get clothes clean with washboards and wooden tubs (or maybe just a coin operated Laundromat?)...but this was the best the writer of this show could come up with to demonstrate that? A space laundry and ink stains? 🙄 To give it credit, this ludicrous scene got me hooked on the show...I'm watching every episode in hopes of more absurdities and laughter. So far, it hasn't disappointed. More space laundry 🧺1987
- Robotic LawsIn Foundation Discussions·7 novembre 2021I am concerned that Cleon could coerce/order Demerzel to kill Zephyr Halima. After all, fundamental to Asimov, are the three laws of Robotics and the Zero’th law wasn’t introduced until much later. If Apple is going to stray from the books there should still be some fundamental Asimov concepts left to flow-through the stories19241
- Brother Dawn (Older Variant) Speculation. In Ideas & Contribution·23 septembre 2021I am guessing he is seemingly the most innocent of the three, but in fact he is the most cunning. Capable of killing his cloned brothers to ascend the throne unquestioned in a vain attempt to keep the empire, his empire, from falling. He eventually is superseded by the treasonous generals that seize power from beneath him and he will be known as the final emperor of the Galactic Empire.2670

- Better than the books? In Season 1·16 octobre 2021To be honest, I'm enjoying the show more. I found the books to lack personality because the characters ultimately do not matter. It's more about the story. A TV show cannot be like that. Has to have interesting characters with good actors for emotional investment. If you don't agree, I apologize in advance.1861

- Perspective and Gaal Dornik (spelling?) (Speculation) (Spoilers)In Foundation Discussions4 octobre 2021My theory about the ending of ep. 2 is that Hari Seldon recorded his mind in an AI (that would be the thing on his ear), and Raych knew about this, and there was some sign that the recording was over, and that's when Raych killed him. This would be consistent with Hari Seldon sticking around for the whole series, which I expect him to do, and as consistent as possible with the books, where there were recordings of Hari Seldon to guide the Foundation. Why would Raych kill him in a bloody way if my theory is true? Well, maybe in this universe when you record yourself in an AI you just become the AI, and the AI has control of your body. In which case, a bloody killing may not even have been painful for Seldon. Gaal in the books actually goes to Terminus, but then, Gaal in the series possibly has also Wanda in her, and Wanda was the one that established the Second Foundation. I hope Salvor Hardin isn't Gaal's daughter, in spite of all the hints. I just wouldn't like this series to go the Star Wars way, where all the main characters end up being related. If it's supposed to make it easier to relate to them, it doesn't work for me. It just makes me think: "Oh, no, another universe where nepotism is rampant!"32
