Some people are complaining that "Asimov never wrote (this&this storyline.) Well yeah, after watching the first 2 episodes I"m going "huh??" Well, I guess the writers have to use artistic license if they want a show with more than 3 episodes. Asimov wrote Book#1 as several stories in a pulp magazine. He didn't have time to include love interests, subplots etc. So I guess we will just have to sit back & enjoy the show for itself. Kind of like how everyone argued between LOTR books & movies, till they agreed that "look, movies & books are 2 very different things."
@Laura Todd agreed! Two different products, no doubt. The thing is that I've not seen much science fiction in episodes 2 and 3, besides the clones and the null field. I've no troubles in giving a show time and space to deploy characters and stories. I keep waiting for the best to come.
No doubt that the interests of the audience are not the ones we had when we devoured the books, neither. I'm still swallowing seeing Salvor Hardin with a gun... But again... I say to myself: keep calm and enjoy the production, which is magnificent.
@Alfa Bin Yeah, that gun thing is jarring...I'm hoping it's just to defend against those dragon thingys. (I don't think there were any native life forms on Terminus in the book...)
