I really hope they incorporate a lot of the prequels into season 1. I feel like the guy blowing himself up in the trailers is a member of the Joranumites. hat other groups can you guys think of that could be challenging the status quo of the empire in that way?

The most contemplative of the three, he has foreseen himself the stagnancy the genetic rule of the Cleons have brought to the Empire. He believes Seldon, but ultimately he is rendered to become little more than a lame duck by the ignorance of Brother Day and cold stares of Brother Dawn, carefully watching for his chance to seize power from his siblings. Brother Dusk is wise from age, but weak on influence.

New info just added on IMDb. Alex Graves who is known for his work on Game of Thrones and The West Wing is listed as directing episodes 3, 4, and 5. I always though of Foundation and especially the Mayors era as being largely a political drama, so hopefully that's why they brought on Graves to direct these episodes. On a side note, there's an Apple event coming up on April 20th. Maybe we'll get another trailer and/or official release date?

Isn't the purpose of a space elevator, not having to deal with gravity? but this is at least ten thousand years in the future, surely human beings will have solved the mysteries of gravity by then. how else would they colonise the whole galaxy... and we see in the show that they have solved the gravity. smallest ships can ascend from the surface and go into deep space without having any difficulty, they have hovercrafts in the show. gravity is not an issue in this series.. so why is there an unnecessary space elevator? just for show? (sorry for butchering the grammar, but I hope I could make myself clear :))

Isaac Asimov’s Foundation trilogy is on my Mt. Rushmore of sci-fi epics, which Apple has completely bastardized. First we have the PC virtue signaling: taking one of the protagonists & turning him into a black female Han Solo wannabe, and obviously we need to see her getting laid. Which is par for the course with the rest of the paint-by-numbers Hollywood plot embellishments - the violence, trysts, blasting away at aliens, etc. In Asimov’s universe, Salvor Hardin famously remarks “Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.” Now that Apple has turned him into Black Wonder Woman, she announces she’s going to the armory “… to see what kind of violence we can muster.” On the bright side, it’s good to see Apple handing out script writing assignments to 12-yr old boys.

I know this is being discussed in the Hari's uploaded consciousness thread, but I thought I'd separate it out.... I can't make any sense of the replacement Cleons pointed out by Brother Dawn. Exactly how does this work? So, they grow Cleons that are each a certain year old from, what? Age 1 to Age 90? and freeze dry each of those 90 Cleons? So that, just in case a Cleon accidentally dies or proves to be a failure they can replace him, no matter the age? Am I understanding that's how this works? If I've got it right, then there's this warehouse of Cleons and they can just implant the right memories and mind into the one they need. SO, Problem with Brother Dawn? No problem. Erase damaged Brother Dawn, Roll out Brother Dawn age 17, download the saved mind into him and he's ready to go. No interruption in service. Now, someone said that these can't be as good as the "grown from birth" types...but that makes no sense. If you're going to replace Brother Dawn with freeze-dried Brother Dawn then he has to be AS GOOD as one grown from birth. OTHERWISE you're going to end up with an inferior Brother Day on the throne and running the Empire! 😱 I presume that whoever created this wacky plan made darn sure that this freeze-dried replacement would be as good as the grown-from-birth sort. I mean, you already got rid of the "grown from birth" Brother Dawn because he wasn't satisfactory. You don't want a problem with the him once he becomes all-powerful Brother Day and is giving orders to, say, firebomb planets. Which brings us to the question...Why in the world are are the Cleons bothering to bring up future emperors from birth? You could skip all those years of raising a kid, and risking that he'll go wrong or die in an accident, and just bring out the freeze-dried one. Age, whatever, ready to be and do whatever Brother Dawn does when he's of an age to share rulership (does he do anything?). I mean, if the aim is to have the exact same Cleons over and over again, as close to the original as possible, why risk variants? Just use the freeze-dried ones. Can anyone explain why they need to do the whole life cycle thing with the baby and the nanny and the life lessons all that when they've got at least 90 Cleons waiting to be used in the Imperial Warehouse?
