- panel discussion of first seasonIn Season 1·2 décembre 2021panel discussion between Cora Buhlert, Joel McKinnon, and me about the first season of Foundation on Apple TV+1116
- JoranumitesIn Season 1·21 septembre 2021I really hope they incorporate a lot of the prequels into season 1. I feel like the guy blowing himself up in the trailers is a member of the Joranumites. hat other groups can you guys think of that could be challenging the status quo of the empire in that way?1196
- Brother Dusk SpeculationIn Ideas & Contribution·23 septembre 2021The most contemplative of the three, he has foreseen himself the stagnancy the genetic rule of the Cleons have brought to the Empire. He believes Seldon, but ultimately he is rendered to become little more than a lame duck by the ignorance of Brother Day and cold stares of Brother Dawn, carefully watching for his chance to seize power from his siblings. Brother Dusk is wise from age, but weak on influence.1136

- Event Horizon Easter Egg, Episode 8?!In Foundation Discussions9 novembre 2021Unfortunately, I too saw the similarity which is why I tried to ignore it. The problem is that 'Event Horizon' was a space-horror schlock film, highly influenced by Clive Barker's work, esp the 'Hellraiser' series. In other words, the writers are allowing for that mixture of horror-fantasy to infuse with Sci-Fi so that supernatural abilities, portals to hell, demonic possession, etc, could be used further down the road as plot devices. And that for me, is the end of the Foundation but a start of a some Aliens-Hellraiser-The Grudge hybrid sort of abomination which isn't here or there. I suspect that that's when they give up on an 'Expanse' Sci-Fi theme but more of a Jump The Shark horror series like 'Supernatural' in space. I hope I'm wrong.11
- This week’s episode. In Season 11 novembre 2021I absolutely love the fact that I cannot predict what's gonna happen in the show. I love it that the books can't spoil it for me. I hope the Goyer team keeps on surprising us.11

- Event Horizon Easter Egg, Episode 8?!In Foundation Discussions9 novembre 2021So far Foundation has had a SF fairytale vibe with a touch of maths, which I like. If it goes into SF horror direction, I'll be horrified and stop watching. Episode 8 was nasty but tolerable. If it goes much further in that direction, maybe I won't be watching the second season. If I wanted to watch the Alien franchise, I'd go and watch that, not some sort of hybrid between it and Foundation.11
- Show runners - be careful about DEMERZELIn Foundation Discussions3 octobre 2021Demerzel has the Zeroth Law, so it's permissible for her to kill and harm people. It just requires that she genuinely believes it's for the good of humanity as a whole. Of course, how much can you trust Demerzel to actually know what is something as ill-defined as the good of humanity as a whole? That's what makes Demerzel rather interesting, in my opinion.11
- Episode Three (Spoilers)In Season 12 octobre 2021Who put the artifact with the null field? I hope the artifact is the real vault, with Hari´s holograms and will open on the crisis. As Seldon said on the 2nd episode "Terminus was already the choice", so he may have sent some one put the vault in Terminus before they go to there.11
- Raych Seldon and the Mystery Boy, what's your theory ?In Foundation Discussions29 septembre 2021It is his son and I have a feeling he too will have a kind of sixth sense in a similar way to Gaal.11
- Ultra lightspeed without jumpingIn Foundation Discussions7 octobre 2021I have been thinking about the 878 days, on the grounds that high-budget TV series don't have random numbers, only Easter eggs. These are my two favourite ideas: 1. The maths idea 878/323 is a good approximation of number e, to 4 decimal places. (Number e is the base of natural logarithms, and anybody who studies maths to a high enough level will know about it). It's especially easy to remember because 878-323=555. Number e is needed to describe the Gaussian bell curve, which is an essential tool of statistics, and psychohistorians need to be familiar with it. 2. The history idea 878 AD isn't a very interesting year. It's in the middle of the Dark Ages, it has a couple of big battles in it, but lots of years have battles. But the Galactic Empire is inspired in the Roman Empire. And the Romans counted years from the foundation of Rome. 878 AUC (Ad Urbe Condita) is 125 AD, and a much more interesting year. It's in the middle of what's been described as the Golden Era of the Roman Empire, and it's when the Pantheon was built. Other parts of the world were prosperous, too: the Parthian Empire in the Middle East, the Kushan Empire in India, the Han Empire in China, and even the Javanese calendar starts on this year. Long-distance trade was happening, and a few years later there were reports of Roman merchants arriving in China, and Roman coins have been found that appear to confirm this. Surely the contrast between the sad state of the world in 878 AD and the prosperity of 878 AUC would be of great interest to any psychohistorian.11
