I think that any set of twins or triplets (exactly what a clone is!) would take exception to the message of this episode: that Cleon has "no soul" 🙄 It always bugs the crap out of me when writers of science fiction don't bother to understand enough science. Or maybe just feel they should back up popular myths no matter how egregious. Here they're asserting that cloning is somehow equal to making xerox copies (a xerox of a xerox of a xerox). Which means each one is going to be somehow "less than" not only the original, but the previous copy. And then, to add insult to injury, they feel they have to assure the audience that cloning is SO bad that it will leads to people with no "soul." They might as well be writing a Christmas movie where the evil logical person says "There is no Santa!" and the wise mysterious woman says "Yes, there is...but you have to trust your heart." Why do so many science fiction shows/movies have to throw in visions, miracles and faith to assure their (insecure?) audiences that this show with all the science isn't going to undermine or disrespect their feelings or faith in god?

Well on the international space station they don't clean their clothes, just trash when they get too dirty. It would take too much water to clean them. But 20,000 years from now (that is how far in the future it's supposed to be, right?) in the galactic empire, one would assume they'd worked out something better than a commercial laundry down on the spaceship's lower decks. @D. Thorn Here's the thing, the Imperial Palace looks devoid of expert personnel. It's like the Emperor has no doctors, no engineers, no psychologists, and no scientists at his beck and call. In addition, where are the ordinary robots? You know, the ones not as AI-enabled as Ito but with enough functional capability to analyze foods, recognize threats, etc, so that the Emperors could wander about w/o Ito always having to play the watchdog role. It's almost like the writers have turned the Imperial Palace into a medieval fortress with only servants and hit men and little connection to the modern world which in this case, is the whole of the galaxy. Such a place, clearly cannot manage a galaxy of trillions of humans. Aside from Ito, does the Emperor have a briefing room, where the daily tribulations of the Empire are presented for executive action? And then, if such a thing exists, where's the chain of command in that briefing? Who are the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Governor-Generals, etc, etc? All I see is the Emperor and some sycophants who say what he wants to hear. IMHO, I believe the writers have decided to stick to a medieval castle M.O. and have left the modern era behind because it adds to much complexity to its world building. Trantor is a hi-tech medieval castle and the outer perimeter is inhabited by "Conan the Barbarians" much like back in ancient and medieval times on earth.

There are changes in supporting characters. I imagine that happens in many movies adapted from books. I don't mind as long as they don't do stuff like having Hari Seldon try to become Emperor. THAT would be a major storyline deviation!!
