As you have probably noticed there will be some changes compared to the original books like for example some characters like Gaal who is a woman in the TV Show. I didn't take Brother Dawn to task to for delegating tasks to his staff. I took the STORY to task for having someone chew the leaves to demonstrate that they weren't poisonous rather than having Brother Dawn hand them to some expert he trusted. Like his robot servant, who is hundreds of years old and never forgets anything. I find it hard to believe SHE doesn't know every plant in the garden and what it does. Or, hey, he could have just given it to the Imperial Lab. Shouldn't the palace have it's own hospital? Doctors and scientists? To make sure all food and meals are safe for the Emperors, and to take care of them if they get hurt or sick? I mean handing leaves to someone to chew in order to prove they're not poisonous is kinda stupid when you think about it. It's certainly not going to prove that they wouldn't cause a fatal allergic reaction in Brother Dawn's body if he chewed them. THAT is what I took issue with. The idea that one of the Emperors (EMPERORS!) of this highly developed society can't think of any better way to find out if leaves are poisonous than having someone chew them. 🙄 I mean, come to that, so what if he was poisoned?
