- Incredible (Minor Spoilers)In Season 124 septembre 2021Episode 1 is nothing short of AWESOME, and the cliffhanger at the end of episode 2 is UNREAL!32
- Does someone know who will create the soundtrack? In Foundation Discussions·4 septembre 2021Ramin Djawadi by any chance?1794
- Incredible (Minor Spoilers)In Season 124 septembre 2021Just watched the first episode and yes it was awesome to see book elements and new elements. I also like how all the pieces that we seen in the different teasers / trailer take life like a puzzle. 🙂31
- The Mule (Speculation/Spoiler)In Foundation Discussions·16 novembre 2021After watching the last episode (8), I fear that our wild authors will make Gal Dornick the Mule! The last interaction between Gal and Hari kind of ends with them falling out, Gal coming out as a sort of a 'mentalist' and then goes off the radar for 134 years. Does anyone agree? I mean, the TV authors are anyway taking the original story for a wild ride, so why not? I don't see where else Gal will fit after 134 years.16177
- If Hari could make himself into an immortal avatar, why not the Emperor? In Foundation Discussions·4 novembre 2021Here's one of the technical points which I think highlights a problem with the show. The whole genetic dynasty thing is based upon a basic knowledge of biology that twins tend to do similar things and thus, are the same person with a few superficial differences. And sure, given the fact that they live together and occasionally wear each other's clothes, etc, one could make that case. So now, the fate of the entire galaxy is based upon cloning and maintaining a type of identical Cleon to provide the face of eternity. Well, if one has 400+ years to work with, will that person have a 40 to 70 year old mentality forever? I would think that a healthy, non-bed ridden person, even at the age of 90, will try something new even if he's in his final decade of life. This then brings up the whole contrasting Avatar thing. Hari's death by Raych was really his birth in cyberspace. Instead of a frail 60-something, he's now immortal and can pursue research till the end of time or at least till the end of computing machines. And yes, the show does appear to make this the case so that the time vault is actually a Hari-personality AI. Likewise, even if Cleon used a type of body double occasionally, his consciousness and memories from prior lives would be assimilated into them, given the tech of his century. In addition, even if he didn't use direct clones, couldn't he grow organs and have his surgeons swap out aging ones and thus, extend his human life in the hundreds of years? The show has indicated that we're 1000s of years in the future where all of this exists. Instead, we have a type of inconsistent universe building of medievalism mixed with tech, way ahead of the era of Genghis Khan. Gaal's home world would be the laughing stock of the galaxy, as ppl on Trantor and other planets would take bets on when the deluge happens, since it's obvious that the idiots on the surface aren't doing anything about it. And one could say something about Lumin being another Luddite, anti-tech, fake Buddhist world/culture but that's for another day, since earth's own Buddhism allows for soul to transmigrate/live anywhere. I mean sure, ppl love to visit medieval places like Bhutan or Tibet but on the whole, modern practitioners of the faith live in places like Thailand, Malaysia/Singapore, Sri Lanka, Europe, and America.2394
- Raych Seldon and the Mystery Boy, what's your theory ?In Foundation Discussions·29 septembre 2021From Isaiah Joshua Chambers as Mystery Boy : "It will be interesting to see if Fans can guess the relation between our two characters as the episodes go on... Cant wait for you to see my costume 👀" @Mark A. Rivera , I know you are good for it ! ;)23146
- Speculations (Spoilers)In Season 1·24 septembre 2021Ok so I was definitely wrong about the Joranumites (but I thought it was a good shot), but I have a thought and am wondering if anyone else is thinking the same.....could they be pushing to make Gaal a 'mentalic'(i think that is how the books referenced them) aka a 2nd Foundationer. She had a weird feeling about the star bridge and there was that comment but the emperor's spy(I'm pretty sure it was him that said it) that she should figure out what she is before it's used against her. She also had a sense that something was wrong at the end of episode 2. Just a thought. Also loved Rayche's knives!!!2365
- Personal force fieldsIn Foundation Discussions·24 septembre 2021I was a bit disappointed to see the use of a personal force field on the Emperor in the second episode. In the books personal force fields are not technologies that the Empire possesses and only latter was the foundation able to create them.2385
- The Empire's symbolIn Foundation Discussions·3 octobre 2021About the Empire's symbol on the flag I can accept that could be difficult representate actually the description of "starship and sun" made in the books. But was really necessary that it was so similar than the Rebel Alliance of Star Wars? ..... Or it was to capture those others fans?1577
- Ultra lightspeed without jumpingIn Foundation Discussions30 septembre 2021I have read a lot of Asimov, and I don't think he suggested anything like that. You could say that the ship was moving at a fraction of lightspeed and 878 days was relativistic time inside the ship. The problem with that is that you would have to assume that at least 50.000 years had passed for the Empire while the ship arrived at destination, and I don't think the way the series is going it looks like that much time passed, but maybe I'm wrong. Another option is that the ship has an Alcubierre warp drive. This doesn't require jumping, and it's theoretically feasible within the existing physics framework. A third option is that the ship is using wormholes, that are in many ways equivalent to jumping. I don't remember Asimov stories with warp drives or wormholes, but I could be wrong.22
- Perspective and Gaal Dornik (spelling?) (Speculation) (Spoilers)In Foundation Discussions29 septembre 2021It seems that Dornick in the show is sort of "combined" with Wanda Seldon from the books and she is establishing the Second F. From what we saw, seems that she got some powers, just like Wanda in the books, or Golan Trevize in some ways. And Goyer talked about some characters who gonna appear all along the show. It seems that Dornick is one of them, she would probably witness all the crises that the Foundation(s) will face. So she is the narrator of the show. Hope my english is good 😅22
- Episode 3 got me thinking…In Season 1·6 octobre 2021You know? After those first two episodes it gave me the impression that the show was in a slight rush to settle as much as possible from the origin of the Foundation in Terminus while also establishing whatever we needed to know about the empire. But after the 3rd episode I could swear they changed the pace. It no longer felt as if the entire season was against the clock to tell a coherent story but as if now it’s gonna take its time to deal with the social living in Terminus. I’m not sure if I like it more than what we previously saw, but im definitely looking forward to the first Seldon Crisis.2145
