For details on how a space elevator would work and could be built, I recommend reading "The fountains of paradise" by Arthur C. Clarke. We don't know the mass of Trantor, but if density is similar to Earth we can estimate it as roughly 30% of Earth (correct me if I'm wrong). And a Trantor day is 1.08 Galactic Standard days, that I think we can assume are Earth days. And if all my calculations are correct, that would mean that geosync orbit would be about 70% of the Earth's geosync orbit. So yes, that would be very high, and since Trantor's radius is roughly 2/3 of the Earth's, that view where the planet looks very small seems about right.

Geostationary orbit of the Earth is 22,236 miles. The shot is more accurate than the cited 26 miles.

@Mark A. Rivera Well, Mark, I'm assuming that the very basic things of the books are followed on the show. No mathematicians/psicohistorians on Terminus, so they can't interfere with the plan. The only one was Alurin and he was committed to Seldon's plot. Those on Terminus are encyclopedists, high end scientists such as Pirenne, but no psicologists. If not even this is respected on the show, I can't even figure out the nature of the crisis... We'll see

Yes, but also remember in order for psychohistory to work, no one can know the full plan so not even among those who immigrated to Terminus are truly aware of why they are there. Some really are there to be being Cyclopedia and keep up appearances others suspect or know they have a different purpose, but none of them know anything for certain because if they cared then the plan would not work.

Yes it's a good idea to make this label. Your descriptions are very relevant and people may think that's what's really going on in the show. 😄
