- Space Elevators Should Not Extend That Far!In Foundation Discussions5 octobre 2021For a TV show almost everything is acceptable. But, for instance, Earth diameter is 12.742 km, satellite geosync is 36.000 km (3 times diameter), Moon distance is 384.000 km. So geosync is about 10% of moon distance. That´s pretty far for a artificial "star bridge" to be built. If this structure fall, it would really be a necklace around the planet, because Earth perimeter is 40.000 km, so the necklace would embrace almost the full globe, just as said by Brother Day on the serie. Point to Mr. Goyer.20
- Perspective and Gaal Dornik (spelling?) (Speculation) (Spoilers)In Foundation Discussions2 octobre 2021That sounds correct. It does appear that Gaal Dornick will end up being part of the Second Foundation in the show. The third episode also introduced Hugo, whose biological age is far lower than his chronological years of existence. Since this was the result of traveling in cryosleep for long durations, then the same could apply to Dornick. I am pleased that the show seems to be set to a timelime closer to the books than an ultra rushed one. For instance, suppose the Mule appeared in say only one hundred years or less after Hari Seldon's death. That would have been an issue. However, fortunately, the third episode seems to clear this concern up. A significant amount of time has already passed between the beginning of the Foundation and the time n the Anacreon force lands on Terminus.2
- Perspective and Gaal Dornik (spelling?) (Speculation) (Spoilers)In Foundation Discussions29 septembre 2021I think you are correct. I hope they don’t rush to the Mule though. There are still some important crisis that The First Foundation will face and overcome to evolve into the space organization that will get The Mule’s attention.2
- Incredible (Minor Spoilers)In Season 125 septembre 2021That cliffhanger had to be part of the plan though. Rayche would do anything Seldon asked of him. And no one on Terminus could know the whole plan if it were to succeed.2
- Foundation is out at ...In Season 123 septembre 202120
- Perspective and Gaal Dornik (spelling?) (Speculation) (Spoilers)In Foundation Discussions27 septembre 2021I agree and I think her being jettisoned into space has something to do with it.2
- A thread for people who love the show.In Foundation Discussions28 novembre 2021I don't understand why people who don't like it go to the trouble of using a Foundation fan app.20
- Speculations (Spoilers)In Season 125 septembre 2021You know what, it makes sense. I was also thinking that it might be the way they allow Gaal live through different foundational ages, because at the very beginning she said she knew the Mule, so that’s odd, isn’t it?20
- Perspective and Gaal Dornik (spelling?) (Speculation) (Spoilers)In Foundation Discussions2 octobre 2021The way I'm interpreting Gaal in the series is that she's a composite character of several others in the books, with some other ideas thrown in. Or maybe you could say she's an entirely new major character pretending not to be an entirely new major character by having enough features of known characters. She's got in her Gaal, Manella, probably Wanda, and maybe Bayta. I also wonder if the Second Foundation in the series is going to be a lot closer to the First Foundation than it is in the books. In the books somebody would be a First or Second Foundationer, but rarely both. I'm thinking Gaal may be both, and this situation may be relatively common.20
- Does someone know who will create the soundtrack? In Foundation Discussions16 septembre 2021I can't wait to hear the main theme!20
- Raych Seldon and the Mystery Boy, what's your theory ?In Foundation Discussions29 septembre 2021Yeah my guess would be that he is Gaal and Raych’s son saved as a zygote during Episode 2. Not sure why that would be a mystery though. Are the foundationers not allowed to to know which children are there genetic offsprin? or will Raych never even make it to Terminus?20
- Brother Day SpeculationIn Ideas & Contribution·23 septembre 2021Stoic, strong and handsome with great regal leadership qualities and a certain amount of pompousness that seeps through the veneer of his role as the Emperor for everyone in the Empire, Brother Day cares much for his family’s lineage, the welfare of the Empire and believes he rules fairly in the best interests of the people, but his ego and arrogance allows himself to be manipulated by Hari Seldon into banishing him to Terminus while simultaneously he ignores the worries of his older Brother Dusk. As chais increases, he eventually is “removed” from power by Brother Dawn following the death of Brother Dusk. His inability to acts fast enough and hubris are what allows him to fall victim to his power hungry younger cloned brother.2031
