:)) as if apple has been loyal to the books so far. it has gone soo far beyond the books long before this episode. this is not a foundation adaptation anymore. they should have written "inspired by foundation" at the beginning of each episode.

all of these are valid points.. but only for today (and for the next century) not for 30 000 years in the future when people have already solved everything about gravity and easily ascend to space with smallest ships. I'm not asking the validity of space elevator in general, I'm asking the logic of having it in the foundation era.. you know plow is a very good tool in farming but if I see farmers plowing land with oxen in trantor, then I ask the same thing.. why is there middle aged farming techniques in trantor. and it's the same for space elevator because when the people living in 31st century look back, they would probably regard the plow and the space elevator as the same primitiveness.

that's another absurdity right. you can't walk into a shopping mall in my country without passing through a metal detector, and putting your bag into an x-ray device. the security of the star bridge would go through your every molecule before letting you in. if offense gets advanced, defense must follow the same development. I mean if people can implant bombs into their bodies in this future, then surely other people should think about how to prevent them and take precautions. a silly premise invented by goyer for shock value.

but then, why wouldn't everyone in the whole galaxy is using elevators. the most energy-rich planet is using it but the other planets, some of them really backwards in technology, are doing fine without elevators. so in this universe, this means that the elevator is not that useful, since the others can do without.
