According to Spanish articles from several sources : La Provincia, tuineje.es and Fuerteventurahoy. Apple TV has announced its wish to be able to shoot part of the second season of Foundation again on the Canary Islands and more precisely on the Fuerteventura island of in the municipality of Tuineje. As a reminder, Apple TV filmed part of Season 1 in the same location (see article).
This is very good news for the municipality of Tuineje because the shooting has already left a profit of 25 millions euros thanks to season 1 and allowed the employment of a large number of people despite the Covid-19 crisis. The secound season of Foundation will open new opportunities for the islands.
Esther Hernández (the mayor of Tuineje) and Nélida Padilla (the councilor for culture) visited the area of the municipality where the series is being shot and met Juan Cano, producer of the project and of the Sur-Film company.

The production company has announced to the city council its intention to shoot the second part of the series in the municipality which will be broadcast worldwide on the digital content platform Apple TV+.
As a reminder, the shooting of this first season involved an investment of 30 million dollars (about 25 million euros). Esther Hernández underlined : "which has a great impact on the economy of the town and the island, because many have rented housing in the municipality and they consume in shops, in addition to the employment it has generated through the hiring of people from the municipality”.
Overall around 600 people make up the production team. The cultural advisor, Nélida Padilla said : "The filming of this series, the first on the island of these characteristics, positions us as a natural setting ready to host major audiovisual productions".
